Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our laboratory water testing process.

How does the testing process work?

Step 1: We mail a sample collection kit directly to your home. You collect a water sample following the simple instructions provided and mail it back to our lab using the prepaid shipping label. Step 2: Once our ANAB-accredited partner lab (ETR Laboratories) processes your sample, we email you a comprehensive, easy-to-understand breakdown of the full technical report.

How accurate are these home water tests compared to a lab?

Our tests don't just compare to a lab—they ARE processed by a lab. Your sample is analyzed by ETR Laboratories, an ISO/IEC 17025–accredited facility, providing you with exact, legally-defensible environmental data.

Do I need any special equipment to collect the sample?

No! Everything you need is included in the box. You'll simply need to fill the provided vials with water from your tap or well.

How long does it take to get results?

Depending on the specific test panel you choose, results are typically emailed to you within 5-7 business days after the lab receives your sample.

What should I do if my water tests positive for dangerous contaminants?

Along with your technical report, we provide generalized guidance. For severe issues like lead or coliform bacteria, we recommend immediately switching to bottled water and contacting a certified local water filtration professional to discuss treatment solutions.

Do you offer refunds or returns?

Yes. If your kit arrives damaged, contact us within 30 days for a full refund or replacement. Due to the strict chain-of-custody required for environmental testing, unused kits that have been shipped cannot be returned.
